Local Service - On Your Farm
V.E.T.S. is an EU-approved embryo transfer service established by veterinary surgeons Peter McCann (UCD 2004), Dáire Markham (UCD 2004) and Eóin O'Móráin (UCD 2004) to provide a complete on-farm bovine embryo collection, embryo transfer and embryo freezing service.
The service includes:
- on-farm service, from initial pre-breeding veterinary examination to post-transfer pregnancy scan
- personalised health and nutrition programmes for donor and recipient animals.
- our veterinary experience at your disposal for the duration of, and with relevance to, the embryo transfer programme.
- flexible pricing structures, including a price-per-pregnancy option.
With a combined experience in large animal practice throughout Ireland, UK and Australia, we have a wealth of understanding of the physiological workings of the bovine female reproductive tract and the external factors that influence normal reproduction.
We thus perform thorough examinations of the donor such as ultrasound examination of the reproductive tract, blood sampling for various health issues (e.g. viral & bacterial pathogens, mineral analysis) to provide the best possible professional overview of the potential donor.
